Registrar/Vital Statistics

The Registrar issues marriage licenses and birth and death certificates. Marriage/civil union license applications are by appointment only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (call 973-627-2000 to make an appointment). Couples apply for marriage/civil union licenses in the municipality where either party lives. Certified copies of marriage/civil union licenses are issued by the municipality where the wedding took place.
