The Borough of Rockaway is accepting applications for a full-time position of laborer for the Department of Public Works. Duties include but are not limited to buildings and ground maintenance, grass cutting, road maintenance, repair underground utilities, snow plowing, and paving. Applicants should be able to perform manual labor under all weather conditions and be able to understand and carry out verbal instructions. Applicants must be able to safely operate grass cutting equipment, chainsaws, chippers, snow blowers, leaf machines, and similar equipment as directed. Applicant must also have a valid NJ Driver’s license. A valid CDL, class B with airbrakes preferred or will be required within 6 months of hire. Successful applicants must undergo a background check. Salary range $40,000 to $45,000.
