Curbside Garbage Collection

The town provides for residential garbage collection. Collection is provided once a week on either Thursday or Friday. Call the municipal building or refer to the recycling newsletter for schedule.

Curbside Yard Waste Collection

Rockaway Borough contracts for single-stream, all-in-one residential curbside recycling. Maximum weight of curbside recycling container is 50 pounds; use multiple containers if needed. The schedule is every other week on Tuesday. See recycling newsletter for specific dates.

Curbside Recycling Collection

Curbside collection of vegetative waste is every other Thursday from Mid-April through Mid-December. See newsletter for routes and dates.

Curbside Bulky Waste Collection

Picked up weekly. Refer to newsletter for your route and day. Scrap metal, white goods, and light iron can only be put curbside on the last Wednesday each month. Please call Blue Diamond at 973-598-9800 to put your address on the metal pick up list.

Municipal Recycling Depot

The Rockaway Borough REcycling Depot is located at the DPW Garage at 21-25 Union St.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays; 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
The facility is open only to Rockaway Borough residents, businesses, and institutions.
