Location: Community Center, Union St.

Call to Order

10:09 AM meeting called to order with flag salute and a moment of silence for departed past members.

Approval of Minutes

D. Conville made MOTION to approve minutes from June 24th meeting, M. Auriemma seconded, all in favor.

Committee Reports

Treasurer (M. Auriemma)

• Advised bank balance as of June 30th is $ 9,542.81
• $42 from donation box to be deposited this week
• M. Auriemma made MOTION to approve expenditure of $100.89 for paint for the museum, D. Conville seconded, all in favor
• K. Lynch made MOTION to approve Financial Review Findings from July 11th, M. Auriemma seconded, all in favor

Museum Curator/Facilities and Maintenance (J. Allen)

• J. Allen not in attendance

Correspondence (M. Auriemma)

• Nothing to report.

Tails & Tales Program (B. Nickoley / M. Okerblom)

• Nothing new.

Fundraising Committee (A. Bernard)

• Nothing new.

Museum Refresh

• Phase A: paint office area, wall cabinet, high hat lights, install TV and photo loop, flooring
• Discussion ensued regarding what has been done to date for Phase A:
  • The focus is to start is on the office area: Police and Fire Departments.
  • T. Slockbower received verbal quotes for custom made cabinet for wall, and 12 high hat lights and outlet including installation
  • J. Hurley advised that 2 hard copy quotes for the lights are needed
  • Discussion ensued regarding new flooring/carpet
  • Discussion regarding new upright cabinet(s)
  • D. Tanzola made MOTION to approve expenditures for Phase A, for renovations not to exceed $4,000, A. Bernard seconded, all in favor
• J. Hurley led discussion regarding removal of items from the museum. Need to ask, 1. Is there historic relevance, 2. Do we know who donated, 3. How do we dispose
• D. Conville RESOLUTION: to dispose of, sell or donate, items identified through photos displayed at meetings, that committee deemed not relevant to Rockaway Borough or in a state of non-repair, C. Conville seconded, all in favor
• M. Okerblom/Rockaway Borough Public Library to take back wooden table that is currently in the office area. T. Slockbower to return wooden board list of members to Rockaway Township American Legion. T. Slockbower to return Rockaway Borough flag to P. Hoppler. Forge picture from J. Kanigel to be displayed, the rest will be disposed of as they are photocopies – originals are at RBPL.

Cars & Coffee Event

• To be held on July 30th, from 8 to noon at Fireman's Field
• Volunteers to be at field for 7-7:15: D. Conville, C. Conville, T. Slockbower, J. Hurley, B. Koch, A. Bernard, B. Edwards, K. Lynch, D. Tanzola
• A. Bernard and T. Slockbower have handheld radios
• D. Tanzola made MOTION to use ornaments to develop goody bags for donations, and have gray t-shirts available for donation purchase, C. Conville seconded, all in favor

New Business/Around Town
